Lincolnshire 30 under 30 Awards 2022!

 Our CEO Josh Illsley was one of the 30 Rising Stars shortlisted from almost 200 applications at this year's Lincolnshire 30 under 30 Awards. The Lincolnite showcase young up-and-coming talent and high achievers. As a business and also as a family, we feel incredibly proud to see Josh get the recognition he has worked incredibly hard for particularly after a challenging couple of years. 

Background 

The Events Sector was sadly decimated when the COVID pandemic struck in 2020, but Josh took charge of a ‘Virtual Runs’ campaign, and slowly but surely events bought into the ethos. The key to our business's survival was Josh’s decision to change approaches to turnover and profit and his analysis of figures and job sustainability. 

If we rewind to 2016, Josh's first day at Running Imp saw him engraving medals in the warehouse and packing parcels. By 2018, Josh had become Operations Manager, getting to grips with purchasing and importing from China, and exporting all over the world. Showing real leadership qualities, he was promoted to Operations Director in 2019, in charge of 60 members of staff. 

 Onwards & Upwards! 

This year, he negotiated a new contract with the London Marathon, securing the supply of all their finishers’ medals, as well as acquiring the finishers’ medals for the Great North Run. We are incredibly proud to work with such incredible Events and be their Official Medal Supplier! 

With Josh at the helm, Running Imp Ltd is looking at a bright future. Not only this, our Chairman Chris Illsley BEM is delighted that the family business will be continuing into the next generation.
