How to Organise a Street Party: A Step-by-Step guide

A street party is a fantastic way for everyone to get involved in Her Majesty The Queen’s upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations.  

Step 1: Apply for your Street Party.  

The main celebrations will be taking place on Thursday 2nd June through to Sunday 5th June. Friday 3rd June is a bank holiday. This means there is plenty of time for you to start planning!  

Before we get onto the exciting bits, you will need to sit and think about some legal considerations. The party can only be for local residents (and only publicised to them), self-organised, and on a quiet residential road. 

If you’re planning on closing the road, you will need to apply for permission, so get in touch with the council 3-12 weeks before you want to throw your party. Otherwise, you can host what’s known as a Street Meet.

Step 2: Organise your Street Party. 

Street Party Decorations

Street Party Fun  

Crown Competition: Using our Platinum Jubilee Crown Hats you can entertain the children for hours! We have our excellent Jubilee design on one side of the crown print, whilst the reverse is stencilled for decoration for all ages and abilities. This is something for everyone to get involved in.  

Treasure Hunt: A treasure hunt makes for a fun outdoor party game, and our wristbands, key chains, pin badges and pens are perfect treasures with handheld flags to guide the hunt.  

Egg and Spoon Race: The classic egg race! Give each player an egg and a spoon and on your marks, get set, go!  

Street Party Food
